Yudhoyono Stays Overnight At Padang, Visits More Victims At Pariaman
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who spent overnight in quake-devastated town of Padang, West Sumatra, is visiting victims at nearby Padang Pariaman on Friday morning before heading back to Jakarta later today.
Yudhoyono and a number of his ministers are visiting hundreds of victims at M. Djamil hospital in Padang, before leaving to Padang Pariaman, about 30 kilometers away.
Yudhoyono and his entourage are scheduled to h
ead back to Jakarta later in the day.
In Padang, Yudhoyono on Thursday visited several buildings destroyed by the 7.6-magnitude earthquake.
One of the sites Yudhoyono visited was the collapsed four-floor Ambacang Hotel, where over one hundred guests were believed still trapped under the rubble.
Yudhoyono also visited the Gama Learning Course building where about 50 children were suspected of still being trapped.
Yudhoyono and the team spent the night at the guest-house belonging to state-owned cement factory PT Semen Padang.
