Seminar “Riau Province Trade and Investment Forum, Norway, 2009”
The Provincial Government of Riau in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo will hold a seminar on “Riau Province Trade and Investment Forum, Norway, 2009”, to be conducted in Scadic Hotel, Asker on 23 November 2009 at 9 a.m. The seminar which will be cordially opened by the Governor of Riau Province, Mr. H.M. Rusli Zainal, will give you a first-hand look at the detailed and lucrative business opportunity in Riau.
Riau Province is one of the 33 provinces in Indonesia, located at the centre of Sumatra mainland along the Strait of Malacca, one of the busiest world shipping routes. As one of the richest provinces of Indonesia, it has abundant economic potentials, among others its richness in natural resources, particularly petroleum and natural gas, rubber and crude palm oil, and pineapples, as well as its other various commodities. World-leading companies, such as Caltex and Chevron Texaco, have been long operating in the province.
The richness in natural resources coupled with vibrant trade activities, has made Riau attractive and promising for foreign investment. Riau is currently promoting great opportunities for foreign investors in various sectors such as: infrastructure development, natural resources and energy power development (mini hydropower plant), fishery, public utilities development, industrial estates development, and agribusiness industries and many more.
