Military Sends 1,125 Peacekeepers to Lebanon

Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Gen. Djoko Santoso sent 1,125 soldiers off on a UN peacekeeping mission to south Lebanon on Thursday.
The troops will replace the Indonesian peacekeeping force due to leave the area after a one-year tour of duty.
The new contingent, comprised mostly of infantry personnel, will serve for a year after having undergone several months of training.
Indonesia has the third-largest peacekeeping contingent in Lebanon after France and Italy. The TNI has also sent a warship to the Middle Eastern country as part of the UN’s peacekeeping mission.
