Indonesia Invites Norway to Invest in Riau
The Indonesian Embassy in Oslo together with the Riau provincial administration held a seminar on Riau’s investment and trade potentials in Norway on Monday, Nov. 23, to boost the bilateral trade partnership between Indonesia and Norway.
The seminar which was held in Asker was officiated by the Indonesian Embassy’s Charge d’ Affaires Ad-Interim Mansyur Pangeran and head of Riau promotion and investment Feizal Qamar Qarim.
Pangeran explained to the Norwegian entrepreneurs that Indonesia is a safe investment and business destination for Norwegian investors and entrepreneurs. “Riau is one of the 33 provinces in Indonesia [that] owns promising natural resources for investment,” Pangeran said as quoted in the Indonesian Embassy’s press release.
A number of Norwegian entrepreneurs are interested to see the business and investment opportunities in Riau province. There are, among others, Jon Hanssen from Innovation Norway and Astri Sophir from Oslo Chamber of Commerce that have committed to expand the information on Riau’s great potential to the Norwegian companies under both institutions.
The Norwegian entrepreneurs who attended the seminar came from various business background such as energy, cruising ship, pulp and paper importer, rubber, coconut fiber, fisheries, agriculture and tourism.
