Government Provides 627 Extra Flights for Idul Fitri Holidays
The Transportation Department has decided to provide 627 extra flights in anticipation of the increasing number of passengers during Idul Fitri holidays this year. A total of 246,383 additional seats will be available on these extra flights.
“Seven airlines asked us to provide extra flights,” said Tri Sunoko, the air transportation director at the Transportation Department’s air transportation directorate general, yesterday (8/9).
The airlines include Garuda Indonesia, Mandala Airlines, Merpati Nusantara Airlines, Trigana Air, Indonesia Air Asia, Sriwijaya Air, and Lion Air.
Tri mentioned that the routes receiving most additional capacities were Jakarta-Denpasar, Jakarta-Surabaya, Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Jakarta-Semarang, Jakarta-Jambi, Jakarta-Banjarmasin, Jakarta-Pangkal Pinang, and Jakarta-Sampit.
