Govt Plans To Build Coal Terminal In South Tangerang

The government plans to build a coal terminal at Rawamekar Jaya village in Serpong sub-district in South Tangerang municipality, a Transportation Ministry official said.

Director general of railway affairs Tunjung Inderawan told Antara state news agency on Monday an environmental impact analysis was being conducted on the area where the terminal would be built.

The construction project is expected to start in 2011, pending completion of feasibility study to be conducted on the plan.

The terminal will secure coal supply for Greater Jakarta, he said.
