Gas Terminal Company to be Built

An LNG floating receiving terminal which will be built over Jakarta Bay by state-owned oil company Pertamina, state-owned electricity company PLN, and state-owned gas company PGN, is scheduled to be completed next year.Gas terminal“The joint venture establishment will be finished by the first semester next year,” said PGN secretary, Wahid Sutopo, yesterday. He added that the process of establishing the joint venture would take some time. The companies are currently opening bids to appoint a consultant for the project.

Wahid said the investment value would be known after the winner of the tender is determined. However, he said PGN is ready to fund the project. “PGN’s treasury is in a good position and is ready to fund the project,” he said.

Wahid said the construction of a mini LNG floating terminal in Medan – which will also be funded by PGN – is still being reviewed. He hoped the process could be completed by next year.
