Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia received a four-star rating from Skytrax, a United Kingdom-based research company specializing in the rating of commercial airlines, improving from its previous rating of three stars, Garuda said in a statement published Wednesday.
Skytrax conducted a series of audits since 2009 on a number of Garuda’s routes serving Beijing, Denpasar, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Melbourne, Perth, Seoul, Singapore, and Sydney.
Garuda president director Emirsyah Satar said the improved rating reflected persistent efforts to transform Garuda into a world class airline. Garuda is one of only 27 airlines in the world awarded the four-star rating.
